Our platform is designed so that parents and guardians maintain full control over their children's data at all times.

Magical Hekaya does not collect personal information directly from children. Our platform is designed exclusively for use by parents and legal guardians who are at least 18 years old. All interactions with the platform — including account creation, providing child details, uploading photos, and making purchases — are performed by the parent or guardian.

The information a parent may provide about their child includes:

• Child's first name (used for story personalization).
• Child's age (used to tailor age-appropriate vocabulary and content).
• Child's photo (used for AI-generated illustrations in storybooks).
• Optional details such as interests, favorite things, or sibling names (used to enhance story personalization).

Parental Consent

We require verifiable parental consent before collecting or using any information about a child:

• Only a registered parent or legal guardian account can create child profiles and upload children's photos.
• Parents must provide explicit consent when uploading their child's photo for story generation. This consent is obtained through a clear confirmation step before any photo is processed.
• By creating a child profile, the parent or guardian confirms they have the legal authority to provide consent on behalf of the child.
• Consent can be withdrawn at any time by deleting the child's profile or contacting us directly.

How We Use Children's Information

Any information provided about a child is used solely for the purpose of generating personalized storybooks. Specifically:

• The child's name is inserted into story text to create a personalized narrative.
• The child's photo is processed by our AI image generation service to create illustrations where the child appears as the story character.
• Age information is used to adjust vocabulary and content complexity.
• We do not use children's information for advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose unrelated to story creation.
• We do not sell, rent, or share children's information with third parties except as necessary for story generation (AI image processing).

Parents' Rights

Parents and guardians have full control over their child's data on Magical Hekaya. You have the right to:

• Access: View all information stored about your child through your account dashboard.
• Request Deletion: Delete your child's profile, uploaded photos, and generated storybooks at any time from your account, or by contacting us.
• Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your consent for future use of your child's information at any time. This will prevent new stories from being generated using your child's data.
• Refuse Further Collection: You may choose not to provide additional information about your child at any time without affecting previously generated content.

Data Security

We implement robust security measures to protect children's data, including:

• Encryption of all data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
• Secure authentication through Clerk with multi-factor authentication support.
• Access controls that ensure only the parent or guardian who created a child profile can view or modify that data.
• Regular security reviews and updates to our infrastructure.
• Minimal data retention — we only keep data as long as it is needed to provide our services.
